For 2 years now, we have been working on Colt Express world: the base game, the first expansion Horses & Stagecoach, the second expansion Marshal & Prisoners.
Month after month, we are more and more familiar to the Characters of the game. Django, Tuco, Belle have become our daily companions.
I often wonder why Belle became an outlaw, asked Christophe one day. She must have gone through a rough time…
Tuco is my favorite character, said Cédric. I am sure he had an incredible life before he met Belle in this train.
This was the beginning of a brainstorming about our bandits’ life story. It was exhilarating to imagine them in another context that the Colt Express train: their childhood, their loves, their pains. With Jordi Valbuena, the artist of Colt Express, we started writing the first sketches of a comic strip.
We wanted to give life to the characters we created. There is so much to tell. When Stéphane Carville (Asmodee group President) told us, in september 2015, that Asmodee was developing its “digital” branch, we seized the opportunity to give another dimension to Colt Express world.
Of course, things are not as simple as that. We had to take the time to define precisely what kind of “digital life” we want for Colt Express. We talked a lot with Asmodee digital team Pierre Ortolan and Philippe Dao about the “philosophy” of the app and the art direction we wanted. The point was to find the right studio, able to develop the app according to our wishes.
After long discussions, Frima’s team convinced us they are the best choice. This Canadian studio has an experienced and multi-talented team and they are very enthusiastic about the project.
This is the beginning of a new adventure for Ludonaute and for Colt Express.
This page will be regularly updated with news to keep you informed about the progress. We can’t wait to share with you how we’ll build the digital game, step by step. We will soon be able to tell you more about the schedule.
